An N-type laser diode is wired with the anode connected to the positive supply and the cathode to the negative, often with the case grounded, and requires a constant-current driver for safe operation.Pin ConfigurationMost N-type laser diodes come in 3-pin packages:Pin 1 (LD Anode +): Connect to the positive terminal of the constant-current driver.Pin 3 (LD Cathode –): Connect to the negative terminal of the driver.Pin 2 (Case): Often connected to ground or chassis for thermal and electrical stability . Some diodes may have 2 or 4 pins depending on the module, but the principle of anode positive, cathode negative remains consistent.Driving ConsiderationsLaser diodes are current-driven devices, not voltage-driven. Applying a voltage directly can easily damage the diode.
