How to disable the fiber optic sensor function

How to disable the fiber optic sensor function

To turn off a Keyence fiber optic sensor, you can either switch the power mode to off, disable the timer function, or reset detection settings via the sensor's MODE and manual buttons.Power Mode ControlMost Keyence fiber optic sensors have a power select switch that allows you to choose or fix the power mode. To effectively turn off the sensor, you can set the power mode to a non-operational state or remove power from the sensor entirely .Using the Timer FunctionSome sensors include a timer function that controls detection activity. To disable detection temporarily:Press the MODE button until the display shows the timer function.Press the MODE button again to turn the timer off. This stops the sensor from actively detecting light changes .Detection and Sensitivity SettingsYou can also adjust detection settings to prevent the sensor from responding:Press and hold the MODE button for about 3 seconds to enter AMP settings.Navigate through the display until you reach detection setup.Adjust the detection area or threshold so that the sensor does not trigger under normal conditions, effectively disabling its operation without cutting power .Factory ResetIf you want to completely reset the sensor:Press and hold the SET and PRESET buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds. The display will flash “rSt”, indicating that the sensor has returned to factory default settings, which can also stop current detection configurations .Safety ConsiderationsEnsure the sensor is powered by DC only, as applying AC can cause fire or explosion .Always follow manufacturer guidelines for grounding and conduit separation to prevent malfunction or damage . By using these methods, you can safely turn off or disable a fiber optic sensor for maintenance, troubleshooting, or temporary inactivity.
