Proper polishing minimizes insertion loss and back reflection.Step 7: Inspect and TestUse a fiber inspection microscope to check for scratches, chips, or misalignment. Test the optical performance to ensure low insertion loss and high return loss. Adjust polishing if necessary.Additional ConsiderationsMaintain a clean workspace to prevent contamination of the ferrule endface .For high-performance singlemode connections, ensure concentricity and bore tolerances are strictly controlled .Ceramic ferrules are non-magnetic and thermally stable, making them ideal for sensitive applications .
